The rewards of the job.

Gaining the respect of the public. Doing something worthwhile for the community. Helping to save someone’s life. These are just some of the rewards of being a firefighter.

You get a decent salary too. For the duration of your initial training, you’ll receive £19,918. Once you’ve successfully completed that, you’ll qualify as a probationary firefighter and get £20,747. This will rise again once you’ve completed your probationary period to £26,548.

The holiday entitlement isn’t bad either. On joining us, you’ll benefit from 30 days’ paid leave a year - in addition to public holidays. This will rise to 33 days after five years.

And last but not least, you’ll have the chance to save for your future through our generous final salary pension scheme.
